PERSONAL GROWTH WITHOUT ILLUSIONS!
François de La Rochefoucauld
Writer and Moralist

François de La Rochefoucauld was the real master of the ‘naked truth’, the kind of guy who, instead of giving you a hug, would give you a sharp, sarcastic quote about human nature. Born in 1613 in France, he was a nobleman but, contrary to what many would expect, he didn't just enjoy the life of luxury.
He lived at a time when the French nobility was more like a reality show of intrigue and betrayal than castles and elegant parties. He was a military man, but with little patience for war and more fascinated by the internal wars of the human soul.
His work Maxims and Reflections revealed his raw vision of selfishness and human weakness, with phrases such as ‘Sincerity is a form of disguise’. In other words, he didn't mince his words. He died in 1680, but his maxims continue to make people think to this day, always with a touch of make no mistake, life is much more complex and, let's face it, a bit selfish.
