Chuck Palahniuk

Chuck Palahniuk is a writer who turns the absurd and bizarre into brilliant literature. Born in 1962 in the United States, he started out as a journalist, but soon realised that writing chaotic and subversive stories was more his thing.

In 1996, he released ‘Fight Club’, and well... you already know the first rule. The book became a phenomenon, won a cult film adaptation and established Palahniuk as a master of ‘transgressive realism’. His sharp, dirty and ironic style led to hits such as ‘Asphyxiation, Doomed and Damned’, always poking at society's hypocrisy.

Between narratives full of violence, acid humour and characters on the verge of collapse, one thing is certain: to read Palahniuk is to be punched in the stomach - and asked for more.
