PERSONAL GROWTH WITHOUT ILLUSIONS!
Audre Lorde
Philosopher, Writer, Activist, Poet and Essayist

Audre Lorde, the poet, feminist and warrior who didn't take any crap, was born in 1934 in New York.
From an early age, she realised that the world was not a very friendly place for black women, lesbians and activists - so she decided not to stay quiet (thank goodness!). With her sharp poetry and powerful essays, she unabashedly denounced racism, sexism and homophobia.
Works such as I Am Your Sister and The Cancer Journals showed that her writing was as combative as her activism. In the 1980s, she helped strengthen feminist and LGBTQ+ movements, proving that representation isn't just talk. She died in 1992, but her legacy lives on, inspiring those who believe that fighting injustice is not an option, but a necessity.
